Paint-A-Magnet Saturdays!

At 7pm during the Summer season you'll find a Yellow Shirt team member at the Red Pavilion with plaster magnets for sale at $5 each. This fun activity provides 4 paint colors of your choice, a brush, and water to clean your brushes. For every $5 magnet sold $2.50 is Donated to KOA Care Camps. These magnets are a great way to bring a memento for your camping memories home with you or as a gift to a loved one!

KOA Big Weekend

This location participates in the KOA Big Weekend event, and during this wonderful event, we provide the first showing of Family Movie Night at 6 pm with snacks and water! Although our Paint-A-Magnet Donation event happens every Saturday all Summer long, during this event, we host and paint magnets from 2 pm - 4 pm. The Colorado Stampede

The Colorado Stampede was a PRCA rodeo that was dissolved back in the 90's and there has not been a PRCA sanctioned rodeo in Grand Junction since then. There is a huge agricultural and ranching presence in Mesa County that I think will really benefit from the rodeo. Our KOA neighbors the Fairgrounds, and shares a gate for easy access to both properties.

Bluegrass and Roots Festival

The Bluegrass and Roots Festival is June 14-16 and is “three days of nonstop festival vibes.” Located at Palisade's Riverbend Park, this festival is for families and river lovers alike. Offering not only live entertainment but also paddle boarding, local wine and distillery tastings, lavender tours and painting workshops. The musicians that play are among the country's top bluegrass artists and some of Colorado's emerging stars. Tickets are required to enter, and guests who are 12 and under are free. Lavender Festival

Join us for the 13th annual lavender festival in Palisade. This event will span three days, June 28th-30th, and offer a different experience each day. The first day will be guided farm tours, day two will be the festival in Riverbend Park, and the final day will be self-guided farm visits. The Lavender Festival is meant to provide education, research, networking, and market development to attendees and members in the hopes of promoting lavender as a cash crop in Colorado. You can expect to see beautiful sights, elegant smells, and a delicious lunch. In addition, there will be lavender-oriented classes as well as live entertainment. If you attend, please be aware that there will be a lot of walking and standing, so dress accordingly. We recommend comfortable apparel, as well as sunscreen.

People from all over the country come to see this hair-raising 8 day event. This year's games are set to be May 27th-June 3rd. The drive from our KOA to the stadium is about 10 minutes. Sip & Stitch

Do you enjoy crafting? What about wine? Whitewater Hill Vineyards holds Sip and Stitch every Tuesday from 3-6 pm. Attendees are welcome to bring any type of craft to work on. In addition to being around others with similar interests, you will also be able to get 25% off of your glasses of wine during your crafting time. Entry is free for all attendees.

Barrel into Spring

April 19th - 20th/ May 10th - 11th are both a weekend event known as Barrel into Spring. This is a weekend of wine tastings that can be found in Palisade. This event offers wine from 7 different local wineries, barrel tastings, food pairings, and discounts at participating wineries. Friday's hours are 2pm -7pm and Saturday's will be 11am-5pm. Please keep in mind that this is a 21+ event, and all attendees must show that they have a valid ID. Anyone under the age of 21 will not be allowed to enter, this includes babies/children. If an adult does not have a valid ID, they will also be denied entry. Tickets will go on sale in mid-February, and the prices will be $75 per person per weekend. If you visit their website www.winecolorado.org/barrel-into-spring/ you can find ticket information as well as transportation recommendations. This list includes limos, pedicabs, horse drawn carriages, as well as a winery/brewery tour company. During your stay, we can also recommend other transportation companies to help get you to and from the park.

Country Jam

Country Jam is the largest country music festival in the state of Colorado as well as one of the oldest in the country. This event annually brings in an estimated 100,000 attendees from all over the country. June 20th-22nd will be jam packed with musical talent from 20+ bands on not only one stage but two. The headliners for 2024 include Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum, and Thomas Rhett. Country Jam is held in Mack Co.at ‘Jam Ranch'; which is about 30 minutes from our KOA location. Children 10 years of age and younger are free to enter and be in general admission areas only, unless they have a ticket to be in other VIP areas. We recommend getting your tickets now as they sell out quickly. They offer a variety of ticket options ranging from roughly $150-$1,000 per ticket. Parking is available at Jam Ranch with purchase of parking pass. We would love to host you during this exciting event. Taco and Margarita Festival

If you love tacos and margaritas, this is the event for you. Hosted at the Las Colonias Amphitheater, you can find not only tacos and margaritas but also live entertainment, local shopping, and so much more. This event is on June 15th, 2024, and tickets are required for anyone over the age of 12 years old. This event does offer two kinds of tickets, the first being general admission and the second being VIP. The Amphitheater is about an 8-minute drive from our KOA location.

Market on Main

Everyone loves a farmers market! Our team at the Grand Junction KOA would love to extend the invitation to you and yours to attend one of the area's "summertime signature" events. Our farmers market Starts on July 11th and will be occurring weekly on Thursdays. The Market on Main is full of wonderful experiences. It's full of farm-fresh fruits and veggies, mouth-watering homemade goodies, and the wonderful sounds of local musicians. Not only can you experience one of the area's most popular events, but you can also visit some or all of the small local businesses located on Main Street. If you are hungry, there are also a wide array of delicious restaurants and cafes.
