The world was forever changed on July 16, 1945 at the Trinity Test Site. It was here at the White Sands Missile Range that the first atomic bomb was detonated and brought a quick end to the Second World War in the Pacific. Today it is a national historical site that is open for visitors just twice a year. Visitors can see ground zero, the ranch house where the bomb was assembled and one of the instrument bunkers.
Starts: 09/16/2022 - Ends: 09/18/2022
Come see hot air balloons take off from beautiful White Sands National Park and Ed Brabson Balloon Park on LaVelle Road during this event. Sit atop of the dunes for a great view or be down with the balloons and mingle with other balloonists. Or in the evening for the balloon glow. Don't forget to bring your camera. During this weekend event listen to great music at the Ed Brabson Balloon Park.
