Born from a desire to replicate the grueling European classics, the LoToJa was founded in 1983 by Logan cyclists David Bern and Jeff Keller. What began as a 187-mile race with seven riders has evolved into the longest one-day USAC-sanctioned bicycle race in the United States, spanning over 200 miles from Logan, Utah, to Teton Village, Wyoming. Cyclists face a formidable test of endurance, conquering three mountain passes amidst breathtaking scenery. LoToJa attracts a diverse field, from elite amateur racers to recreational riders, and has launched the careers of professional cyclists like Levi Leipheimer. Beyond the race, LoToJa has become a significant fundraiser, contributing nearly $3 million to various charitable organizations.
