Nebraska State 4-H Horse Show

The Fonner Park State 4-H Horse Expo is the pinnacle experience for members of the Nebraska 4-H horse program. The annual event includes the State 4-H Horse Show, State 4-H Horse Judging Contest, and State 4-H Hippology Contest.

Aksarben Stock Show

Today the Aksarben Stock Show is managed and produced by the Nebraska State Fair and is open to youth exhibitors and also features a national livestock judging contest.

The beef, sheep and goat shows are held at the Five Points Bank Arena in the Nebraska Farm Bureau Show Ring. The swine show is held in the Aurora Cooperative Pavilion. Youth from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming are eligible to show.

The show was established in 1927 by the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben with a mission of "producing an annual youth livestock show celebrating the region's agricultural heritage which educates and benefits families."
The Aksarben Stock Show moved to Grand Island, Nebraska in 2017 celebrating its 90th anniversary. It was previously located in Omaha, Nebraska under the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben and Aksarben Foundation.

The American Hereford Association Jr. National ShowThe National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is one of the largest, strongest and most active junior cattle programs in the country with 4,100 active junior members. Welcome to the Kool-Aid Days Festival

Kool-Aid Days is a celebration of the childhood drink that has been around since 1927. The festival offers a variety of activities, including:

• Downtown Parade: Show off your float in the parade
  
• Food vendors: Become a food vendor at the main event
  
• 5K Fun Run: Sign up to run or walk the 5K Fun Run
  
• Kool-Aid stand: Mix and serve Kool-Aid at the Kool-Aid stand
  
• Volunteer: There are many volunteer roles available, including directing participants in the 5K Fun Run 
  

Kool-Aid Days also includes Kool-Aid Night at Tri-City Storm Hockey on February 15, 2025. Attendees can purchase Kool-Aid Kollectibles and help the Kool-Aid Man and Stormy cheer on the Tri-City Storm.

On behalf of the Nebraska State Volunteer Firefighter's Association and the Fire School Committee, I would like to extend a special welcome to our 88th Annual Nebraska Fire School! The Fire School Committee, the NSVFA Board, the State Fire Marshall's Training Division and countless others have worked so hard to bring you the training, fellowship, food and vendor connections that have made Fire School so famous. This year's school will consist of 33 classes in all phases of firemanship, fire investigation, rescue, fire safety, leadership, officer training, fire prevention and EMS.  The school is once again being held at Fonner Park and sites in and around Grand Island.

American Shorthorn Association Junior National

The Shorthorn breed originated on the Northeastern coast of England in the counties of Northcumberland, Durham, York and Lincoln. The first real development of the breed occurred in the valley of the Tees River about 1600. The large framed cattle that inhabited this fertile valley became known as Teeswater cattle.The breed later spread to Scotland and then to America in 1783. When first brought to Virginia, the breed had attained the name Durham. It was the first improved breed to be imported into the new world and the qualities the animal possessed made it in great demand and its influence spread rapidly across America.

The Great Migration of Nebraska Sandhill Cranes 2025

A site to behold! It sounds like no big deal, but it is incredible!
Sandhill cranes typically arrive in Nebraska's central Platte River valley in February, with peak numbers in late March and early April. The cranes remain in the area through the first week of April, with a mass exodus often occurring by April 10. Come and stay with us to see them right up the road! WE also have the hook-up to see the cranes come in and take- off right on the Platte River!

It's located along the historic Lincoln Highway, the first transcontinental road for automobiles in the United States, which was dedicated in 1913. Every March and April, more than one million Sandhill Cranes migrate through the Platte River Valley, a one-of-a-kind experience. AKC Dog Show

AKC Dog show begins at 8 a.m. each day and ends after Best in Show. Dog shows are a process of elimination, where one dog remains undefeated at the end of the competition and is named Best in Show. Each dog is judged by how closely they compare to their specific breed's official standard and not against the other dogs in the ring. PRCA Oregon Trail Rodeo

The 2025 High Desert Stampede PRCA Rodeo will take place April 2–5, 2025 at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center First Interstate Bank Arena. This annual event celebrates the Northwest's western heritage with rodeo action in an indoor venue. 
The PRCA, or Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, features a variety of events, including bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, bull riding, breakaway roping, and barrel racing.
