Victorian Candlelit Christmas

Downtown Hattiesburg, HattiesburgThe Annual Victorian Candlelit Christmas event, hosted by the Historic Neighborhood Association, is a two-day holiday-favorite event that draws hundreds of visitors from across the region to explore the spectacle of 18,000 white bags with flickering candles, lining the sidewalks of the Historic Neighborhood and the downtown district.Guests are invited to experience the nostalgia of a simpler time as they travel historic streets lined with luminaries alongside more than 300 homes and businesses decorated for the holidays with garlands, bows, and twinkling lights. There will be horse-drawn carriage rides leaving from the Walthall, food trucks and holiday photo ops available in Walthall Park.Sacred Heart Church will be caroling on the church front steps, Bay Street Presbyterian will host Hattiesburg Community Theater Christmas Concert and will be caroling on the church steps

Lights of the Wild

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Hattiesburg Zoo's “Lights of the Wild” is returning for its seventh year in the Hub City.Light displays featuring super-sized animals, large flowers and plants, as well as holiday-themed decor, will dazzle the zoo.Guests can also enjoy Story Time with Mrs. Claus in the Asbury Discovery Center, photos with Santa in the Africa Pavilion, animal encounters throughout the zoo and unlimited rides on the Northern Lights Express Train and Candy Cane Carousel.Numerous holiday treat stations will be located throughout the zoo and include holiday favorites, dinner fare and seasonal beverages.There will also be a new Letters to Santa Station where children can send their wish lists to Santa.“Snow” will be falling at the Splash Pad and the Mt. Everest Bug Hub for everyone to enjoy.The event will take place over eleven nights, Dec. 6-8, 13-15, and 19-23, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.Monday through Thursday tickets cost $16 at the gate, and Friday through Sunday tickets are $20.Online ticket sales end daily at 4:00 p.m.There is a nightly ticket capacity limit, and ticket availability is not guaranteed at the gate.The event is outdoors and will continue in any weather.Children under 2 can enter for free. Season passes do not apply for this event.Tickets are non-refundable.
