Deep in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, at the intersection of history, culture and natural beauty, you'll find the Natural Bridge KOA. Nestled between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany Mountain ranges and surrounded by over 58,000 acres of National Forest, we have anything your adventurous heart desires.
The magnitude and beauty of the Natural Bridge State Park, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, compels many visitors to come to the area. Surveyed by a young George Washington and once owned by Thomas Jefferson, the Bridge provides a unique, historic, picturesque and natural experience.
Lexington, just 8 miles north of the campground, has recently netted a big share of tourist interest as one of the best small towns in America. With its rich historical background and an entire downtown that is listed on the State and National register of Historic Places, Lexington has much to offer visitors year-round.
Back at the KOA, you can relax in a quiet, wooded, rural setting, nestled in the foothills of the valley. We have a swimming pool, game room and a well-stocked convenience store & gift shop. With planned activities most in-season Saturdays and every holiday, visitors of all ages are sure to have mountains of fun!
We currently offer the following activities:
Starts: 05/24/2024 - Ends: 11/30/2024
**This event takes place at the Natural Bridge State Park, NOT at our campground**
Join park rangers for an exploration of our night sky at this International Dark Sky Park. Pick out constellations, observe planets and nebula through a telescope, and take in the silhouette of the star-lit Blue Ridge Mountains.Be sure to bring something comfortable to sit on and a red-light flashlight if you have one; it will help preserve your night vision as opposed to a standard white light flashlight. Meet rangers at the Skyline Trail parking lot. A moderate 10-minute hike will be necessary once the program begins.A haywagon with seats for 20 people leaves at the program's start time to reach the viewing location. Pre-registration for the wagon ride is required (and is not required if you are not taking the wagon); only one wagon runs per night and space is limited. To reserve, please call (540) 254-0795. Tickets for the wagon ride are $2 per person. All programs are weather dependent. If a program is cancelled due to weather, we will have alternative Dark Sky programs offered indoors. Monitor our website or call the park to receive real-time information at (540) 254-0795.
