Experience Wyoming's western spirit at the Wolf Creek Wrangle Trail Run, an annual trail running and hiking event offering four challenging courses: 5 Mile, 7 Mile, 13.1 Mile (Half Marathon), and 18 Mile. Each route showcases rugged terrain, wide-open skies, and the cowboy way of life as participants run through the stunning landscape of the Bighorn Mountains.
This race is infamous for its rough and wild single track, bear sightings, and "Jeff Way" distances. The Jeff Way is the hard way, the cowboy way. If there is a rockslide along the course, it will not be removed-you will find a way over it. If there are tree branches and overgrowth on the trail, they will not be trimmed. You will have to run through it or jump over it. Trails are not groomed and purposefully left wild, for the wild runner. Prepare for the unexpected and know that at the end of the race you will have bragging rights for life. And beer. That's right, nurse your wounds and pride with a cold one or two. You will have earned it. Celebrate your success with us after the race with food and music!Hosted at the historic Eaton's Ranch, the oldest dude ranch in the nation, this event gives runners and hikers a one-of-a-kind western experience across 7,000 acres of breathtaking scenery. With five generations of ranch heritage, Eatons' embodies authentic Wyoming lifestyle and hospitality.Beyond the race, the Wolf Creek Wrangle supports the local community and proceeds directly benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns and their affordable housing initiatives.Perfect for trail runners, hikers, and campers seeking a fall adventure, this event combines endurance, scenery, and purpose. Stay with us at Sheridan / Bighorn Mountians KOA campground to enjoy upgraded WiFi, pet-friendly campsites, and the perfect place to relax after your race.
Plan your Sheridan area getaway and take part in the Wolf Creek Wrangle where tradition meets outdoor adventure.
