Fall Fun

Please join us for the entire month of October for fall fun every single weekend.  We will have hay rides to our pumpkin patch where everyone can pick a pumpkin.  Take a scenic ride back to the patio where we will have everything set up for you to paint or carve your pumpkin - all the supplies are provided for you and we clean up the mess.  Go all out decorating your campsite because a free night of camping will be awarded to the winner of our site decorating contest.  Dress the kiddos up, adults too if you'd like, and trick or treat the KOA.  We will throw in a few games throughout the weekend for a little extra fun.  Get here early enough on Friday night for our 7:30PM BINGO game.

Father's Day Camper Crawl

Join us for our first annual camper crawl.  
 For those that have never done a camper crawl let me explain the good time that's in store.  We are asking for 5-6 “host” campers.  These campers will sign up to host a quick activity/game OR some sort of fun drink or nibble.  Then we need other campers to sign up to “crawl” with us.  We will then grab our camp chairs and head to the first designated camper to enjoy a tasty drink or bite.  Then we may head to the next camper to play a game or we may ask the camper hosting the activity to combine hosting duties and game where we nibble.  It will all depend on what our host campers plan.  We will ask that our hosts plan for a max of 24 crawlers including themselves.  Should you sign up to host we will offer you 15% off of your Father's Day stay with no limit on your length of stay.  So the longer you stay the bigger your discount.  You must call us (606-528-1534) and have us help you make the reservation to get the discount.  The office is currently open 9am-6pm seven days a week.  Sign up in advance to both host and crawl so our hosts can plan for the correct number of crawlers and have enough supplies for all.  If you are hosting you are also a crawler too.  You only host at your camper and the rest of the time you just get to sit back and crawl with the rest of the gang.  Plan to spend about 20 minutes at each stop with the whole crawl taking about 1.5 hours.  We will plan to crawl Saturday, June 14th from 4-5:30 so that when you make friends you can continue to hang out if you'd like.  Did I mention that if we get a full 24 campers there is a T-shirt involved?  In the words of the band Cake, “to prove you were there, that you heard of it first.”  Call us and sign up!  Two free shirts per reservation.  Make sure you know the sizes of both participants when you call.  Sign up to host so you get your first pick to host food or activity.  Sign ups will close two weeks prior to the event so there is time to print shirts.

Earth Day Lorax Style

Starts: 04/25/2025 - Ends: 04/27/2025

"I am the Lorax and I speak for the trees."  Who doesn't love the Dr. Seuss inspired Earth Day character.  We will create Truffula trees and other fun Lorax inspired art.  Go on a guided conservation themed walk weather permitting.  Wear shoes you can easily take off as we will be doing some grounding exercises.  Play earth day Jeopardy for a chance to win a BOGO camping stay.  Did you know that your Corbin/Laurel Lake KOA is a green campground?  We use wild energy meters to reduce energy consumption by 25%.  Lights in our bathrooms and common areas are on motion sensors so that they only come on when people are present.  Our irrigation is on a drip system to cut our water consumption.  We also landscape with native plants that don't even need irrigation wherever possible.  We pick up trash on all of the roads surrounding our campground to help keep it out of our pristine Laurel River Lake.  We love the earth and are always looking for ways to keep the outdoors helthy and beautiful for us all.

Daniel Boone Tribute

Starts: 06/20/2025 - Ends: 06/22/2025

Our most famous pioneer here in the Cumberland Gap is Daniel Boone.  Come channel his spirit and compete to be the best pioneer of our time.  How quick can you build a fire and get a string to burn?  Test your hme defense skills with axe throwing.  Test your knot tying skills as well as strength by hoisting a log.  Enter our Daniel Boone pioneer skills contest as a singleton and do each contest yourself or form a team and elect the best person for each specific skill.  Bonus points for wearing pioneer clothing.  Cook up a pot of Appalachia's finest "soup beans" and enter them in our contest.  If your beans are selected as the best you get to take home a trophy and bragging rights of course.  Our community fire will feature stories of Daniel Boone and his journey west.

Mother's Day/Care Camps

Starts: 05/09/2025 - Ends: 05/11/2025

Bring Mom camping for Mother's Day.  We will help a bit with a craft for the kiddos to give to Mom.  Give Mom the morning off and come have breakfast with us.  All the profits will be sent to Care Camps which is a charity founded to sponsor kids with illness going to camp.  Often the experiences taken for granted when kids are healthy are completely out of reach when a child has medical needs.  Care Camps sponsor kids to go to camps that can accommodate special needs by having trained medical people on staff and often special facilities that can accommodate wheel chairs and other medical equipment.  These camps focus on giving kids and sometimes their families too a chance to experience the joy of camping and the outdoors.  You can help make that happen just by eating breakfast.

Totally Radical 80's Foam Party

Starts: 05/23/2025 - Ends: 05/26/2025

Like, tease your hair and load it up with Aquanet.  Put on your best 80's outfit and cue up your favorite jam and lip sync your heart out.  If the crowd votes you the best performer then you win a totally awesome BOGO camping pass.  If that isn't enough fun we will be unleashing the foam cannon for our radical dance party.  Be sure to follow us on social media to let us know your favorite 80's track to include on the play list.  Brush up on your 80's trivia because we are playing 80's Jeopardy.  Join us for some bodacious fun.

Red, White and Blue Party

Starts: 07/03/2025 - Ends: 07/06/2025

Come party like it's 1776 and celebrate 4th of July Corbin KOA style.  Bring your, scooter, bike, golf cart or just your own two feet.  Decorate yourself and your conveyance in your best patriotic fashion and participate in our 4th of July parade through the park.  We will have patriotic games that celebrate what it means to be American.  The park will provide a whole bunch of fireworks but for our display to be bigger and better for everyone, please feel free to bring a few of your own that can be let off where everyone can see.  Due to insurance considerations, we can't allow anything more than sparklers at individual sites.

Wacky and Wet

Starts: 07/11/2025 - Ends: 07/13/2025

Looking for something to do when it is too hot to do much of anything?  Come camping and get wacky and wet with us!  We will be hitching up our wagon and parading through camp with every camper not on the wagon, encouraged to do their level best to wet those campers down!  Bring your super soakers, water balloons and whatever else you can think of to get those campers WET!  We will have a water balloon toss, bucket relay contests and so much more.  Plan to get wet and be wet!  The foam cannon just might be making an appearance too for a water filled foam party.

Easter at the Corbin/Laurel Lake KOA

Starts: 04/05/2025 - Ends: 04/06/2025

We love Easter and all things spring that we are celebrating every weekend in April until Easter the weekend of the 20th.  We will do a collosal egg hunt.  There will be one for adults and one for kids.  Please bring 12 eggs filled with a treat appropriate for the age bracket you'll be participating in.  If you have three kiddos that want to hunt please bring 12 eggs per child OR you'll need to instruct your littles that they may only find the number of eggs you bring.  If you bring 12 eggs for 3 kids, they will each take home 4 eggs.  You are also welcome to stuff your eggs with a voucher that can be traded in for their prize that was just a bit too large to fit in an egg.  For the adults we will hide the eggs to make it a little bit harder to find AND we encourage adult appropriate prizes.  Don't forget to bring your baskets to hold your bounty.  Each hunt will feature a golden yellow KOA egg that will offer 50% off a future stay to whomever finds it.  Easter themed crafts will be provided. We will play BINGO each Saturday night to round out the fun.

Groovy Baby!

Bust out your favorite 60's and 70's gear.  Channel Zeppelin and Joplin and come groove with us.  Test your music knowledge by playing "Name That Tune."  Of course all the songs will be from the 60's and 70's.  Decorate your camper for our grooviest camper contest.  Tie dye a T-shirt with us.  Bring your own and pay $10 or get one of ours for $10.  We clean up the mess and of course provide all of the high quality super vibrant dyes, supplies and knowledge.  .

Fall Colors Camper Crawl

Late September is when those leaves start to be in full glory here.  Come enjoy the autumn splendor of the Cumberland Gap.  Since we sit among tons of trees it is gorgeous right here at the campground.  If you want to up the ante then may we suggest using us as a jumping off point.  We are positioned perfectly between two of the best places to see beautiful autumn splendor.  Southern Living Magazine has named the Stearns Railroad one of the best ways to sit back and enjoy the foliage by taking one of their scenic rail trips.  This is a full day excursion.  Read the article here: https://www.southernliving.com/travel/fall-foliage-train-rides.  Want to take in more?  Head to the Cumberland Gap National Park and drive or hike up to their beautiful overlook.  You can see three states at once and the color is... Western Hoe Down

Cook up your best chili for our first annual chili cook off contest.  Winner takes home a trophy!  Get your fancy boots ready for a bit of two steppin' fun.  Follow our socials to drop your favorite dancing song into the playlist.  We might just throw sown some western themed crafts and games as the final hurrah before the kiddos go back to school.

Game Show Fun

Come on out to the Corbin/Laurel Lake KOA with your competitive spirit.  Password, Family Feud, Jeopardy etc.  We will play ALLLLLLLL the games over the course of the weekend.  So come prepared for fun!

Veteran's Day Celebration

We here at the Corbin KOA understand that Freedoms aren't free.  We'd love to honor our vets by offering a 20% discount for your stay this weekend.  Fly your flag from your branch of the service, wear your jackets and hats and let us thank you for your service.  Make a float - even if it's nothing more than a wagon you pull, and take part in our Veteran's Day Parade.  We'd like to have a bit of a square off between the different branches of service.  We will ask you to combine with fellow service members to compete in a corn hole tournament to determine which branch is truly the BEST.  Bring your team with you or find a friend once you arrive to be your team mate.  Above all, come and be honored and have a bit of fun.

Halloween Weekend

We are of course celebrating Halloween all month long.  However, if you want to celebrate the actual day with us, please do.  We are going to do all the fun Halloween stuff like carve pumpkins, trick or treat, BINGO, site decorating contests etc.  Plus we are going to do a frightfully fun murder mystery.

Gingerbread Party & Santa Pictures

Starts: 12/05/2025 - Ends: 12/07/2025

Please join us for a gingerbread house decorating party.  We will provide a pre built house so that you can get on to the fun part of decorating.  You will be provided with icing, candies etc. to turn your house into the cutest one on the block.  Bring a whole crew and turn it into a contest if you want.  Take it home and nibble on it like Hansel and Gretel or just display it as a cute decoration.  When registering you will be assigned a time slot and will have 90 minutes to decorate.  When you are done you just walk away and we clean up the mess.  Head on over to see Santa and let him know all the things you want for Christmas and of course capture all the cuteness for a photo keepsake.  Make sure and register for the same time slot as your friends if you want to decorate together. 
The fine print:  Registration opens October 15, 2025.  This is a ticketed event. If you are camping with us you will receive $5 off per ticket.  We will allow a maximum of two people per gingerbread house ticket for space considerations.  We do recommend that each child have their own ticket so design squabbles and sharing does not put a damper on the Christmas cheer.  Sharing a ticket among adults is a bit easier but only you can gauge how well the adults in your life can share.  Each ticket will come with a visit with Santa and a high quality image that you can print with full usage rights at the printer of your choice.  That means that if you have two children and you get them each their own ticket, you will receive two digital images.  You can utilize those how you see fit.  Bring your dog to pose with Santa.  Do one serious image and one silly one.  Do each kiddo individually.  Whatever you dream up we will do our best to achieve it.  Each ticket will be $35 for non campers and $30 for those staying with us.  You must pay at the time of registration.  No refunds will be given because we must order the gingerbread houses in advance and they are not returnable.  You are welcome to sell your ticket to someone else if you find out you can't attend.
