Located in New York's Mohawk Valley Region, right between the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains. Just miles away from the Historic Mohawk River and Erie Canal. Surrounded by stunning mountains, miles of hiking trails, cascading waterfalls, and glistening lakes as far as the eye can see. The Herkimer Diamond Mines Resort can be found nestled along the West Canada Creek, offering you a Glamping Experience unlike any other! 


The Herkimer Diamond
Home to one of the oldest, clearest Quartz Crystals in the world  - The Herkimer Diamond! These gemstones were faceted naturally over 500 million years ago! These magnificent crystals are found in the rock, having a diamond-like geometrical shape. Thus, the name recognition of “Herkimer Diamond”.
Miners' Village is located right next to the campground, offering a variety of shops and activities for everyone!  The first stop will be “Village Hall” where you will register your family for mining and receive your equipment. Then you can stop by “Rockhound Academy” , our Education Center and Museum, where you will learn how to mine for your own Herkimer Diamonds! Next door is the “Trading Post” Gift Shop, Sluice, Florescent Room, Artisan Center, and Canteen Cafe!
Once you are outside you will be directed to our open rock quarry, where you will be able to mine for your very own Herkimer Diamonds.  Sift through the dirt, search on the ground, or use your hammer to break open rocks! Everything you find is yours to keep.


Camping or "Glamping"
Our campground offers many ways to stay, take in the beautiful views, mine for Herkimer Diamonds, and celebrate the area's rich history. We offer Tent Sites for those looking to spend the night cozied up beneath the stars. Choose between our Creekside and Field Tent Sites, as well as optional electric hookups. 
For the “Glampers”, our Lodging options offer an assortment of perks to give you the comfort you want. From our Camping Cabins that provide just a bed, roof and refrigerator to our Deluxe Lodging that come with patios, bathrooms and partial kitchens, you will learn what camping in style really means. Are you a star-gazing enthusiast? Check out one of our Astronomy themed lodges, each equipped with a high-powered telescope! Spend the night in a Treehouse, or learn about sustainable energy while you reduce your carbon footprint by camping in one of our Solar Powered Lodges. 
At The Herkimer Diamond Mines Resort, we also provide a variety of RV Sites. Full- Hookup or Water/ Electric Pull Thru, Back In, and Pull In sites offer you the ability to camp however you'd like! Grab a spot along the creek and bring a friend, buddy sites are available! We have a variety of KOA Patios for that elevated camping experience! No matter how you choose to stay, High Speed Wi-Fi and Laundry Facilities are available 24/7 to all guests and Golf Cart rentals are available at the main office to make your trip even more comfortable.
Looking for Group Options? No problem! We're happy and willing to accommodate groups of all types and sizes! In addition to our group camping areas, we also provide a  pavilion that can be reserved for gatherings and events. Group Mining and Dining options are also available. 

Now open… Camping on a whole new level! 
Right across the street from the Campground, above the Diamond Mines, we are wrapping up work in our new Mountainside Campsites! This new area of the park offers a whole new camping experience! Whether you would be looking for a spacious site with a spectacular view of the Valley, or if you prefer to be nestled among the trees for a more private camping experience. Spacious RV Sites and Lodging Options are now available, with new tent spots soon to come. This new adventure is one you won't want to miss!


Fun for the Whole Family!
No matter what way you choose to camp, all guests have access to all exclusive campground amenities and activities. 
Visit the “Prospector's Pavilion” for daily activities like BINGO, Tie-Dye, Arts and Crafts, and more! Throughout the Resort, you are able to play a variety of games like Gaga Ball, Basketball, Horseshoes, Bean Bag Toss, Volleyball, Football, Giant Chess and so much more! Bike and Golf Cart Rentals are available all day long at the Main Office. Take a nature walk on one of our brand new hiking trails, then cool down on a hot summer day in our diamond-shaped pool. If you're feeling more adventurous, hop in a tube and float down the West Canada Creek. With so many activities happening all summer long, you'll never run out of things to do!


Dining
The "Canteen Cafe" is open daily serving breakfast and lunch, located inside "Miners Village". Whether your looking for lunch, a quick snack to keep you going the Canteen has got it covered. After a long day of mining stop by and grab a fresh hand squeezed lemonade, or a delicious cone of soft serve ice cream.
"Miners' Table" Restaurant, located right next door, opens nightly for dinner, whether you are looking to have an authentic wood-fired pizza delivered to your campsite, or dine in and try a local favorite “Chicken Riggies” or “Utica Greens”. Featuring our signature cocktails - the “Herkitini '' and “Crystal Cosmo”, both are not only served with a Herkimer Diamond on the side.. But are made with local vodka that has been filtered through Herkimer Diamonds!
End the night with a “S'more” straight from the wood-fired oven.. With a cozy dining room, full bar, outdoor patio, and free campground delivery - there's something for everyone!
In addition to your everyday dinner service,  Miners' Table has many Group Options available. With multiple unique venue option, delicious menu, and cozy cabins right next door, this is the perfect spot to host your special event.

Policies

Cancellation Policy: Please call before the following deadlines to receive your deposit refund, minus a cancellation fee. 

RV/TENT SITE: Notify KOA 48 hours prior to your arrival. Minus a $25 cancellation fee

CAMPING CABINS: Notify KOA 7 days prior to your arrival. Minus a $25 cancellation fee

DELUXE CABINS/UNIQUE ACCOMMODATIONS: Notify KOA 14 days prior to your arrival. Minus a $50 cancellation fee.  $100 for the Diamond Cabin.

Holiday Weekends cancellation (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day) are non-refundable.
