Experience one of the most unique campgrounds in the Charleston area at Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA Holiday. Conveniently located just minutes from Historic Downtown Charleston, Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Shem Creek, Patriots Point, and Boone Hall Plantation, our campground offers the perfect balance of outdoor adventure, rich history, and Lowcountry relaxation.
Set on the historic grounds of Oakland Plantation, our campground is more than a place to stay. It's a destination where families can connect with nature while discovering the stories that shaped coastal South Carolina. Surrounded by majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss, a peaceful 30-acre fishing lake, and protected marshlands, you'll experience the authentic beauty of the Lowcountry from the moment you arrive.
Our property is proudly protected through a Land Conservation Trust, preserving the surrounding marshes, native wildlife, and natural
landscape for generations to come. Whether you're spotting herons along the water's edge, watching deer wander through the trees, or enjoying a sunset by the lake, you'll experience a side of Charleston that many visitors never see.
One of the highlights of every stay is our guided Oakland Plantation Wagon Tour, offered throughout the year. This exclusive experience takes guests through the historic plantation, sharing the fascinating history of the property, its connection to the Lowcountry, and the unique ecosystem surrounding it. It's an unforgettable way to experience Charleston's heritage without ever leaving the campground.
After a day exploring Charleston's award-winning restaurants, historic landmarks, beaches, shopping, and waterfront attractions, return to a peaceful retreat where campfires crackle, families gather, and nature takes center stage. Relax in a waterfront RV site, unwind in a comfortable cabin, or sleep beneath the stars at one of our scenic tent campsites. Enjoy family-friendly activities, paddling on the lake, fishing, nature trails, themed events, and the warm hospitality that keeps guests coming back year after year.
Whether you're planning a weekend getaway, a family camping vacation, or an extended stay while exploring Charleston, Mount Pleasant /Charleston KOA Holiday is your gateway to the very best of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The MOJA Arts Festival is a multi-disciplinary festival produced annually and directed by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the MOJA Planning Committee, an all-volunteer community arts and cultural group. Additional assistance and guidance are provided by the less formal networks of the MOJA Advisory Board, a group of civic leaders who assist with fundraising and advocacy, and the Friends of MOJA patron circle, representing individual and corporate donors. Moja, a Swahili word meaning “One,” is the appropriate name for this festival celebration of harmony among all people in our community. The Festival highlights the many African-American and Caribbean contributions to Western and world cultures. MOJA's wide range of events includes visual arts, classical music, dance, gospel, jazz, poetry, R&B music, storytelling, theatre, children's activities, traditional crafts, local foodways, and much, much more. In addition to its myriad arts presentations, MOJA also includes an active and busy educational outreach component of workshops in the public schools and senior outreach in community centers.
Starts: 12/31/2026 - Ends: 01/01/2027
