20th Annual Sweetgrass Festival

The annual Sweetgrass Festival in Mount Pleasant, founded in 2004, is designed to promote and bring attention to the contributions of the Gullah Geechee people's history, culture, traditions and their sweetgrass basket art form that originated in Mount Pleasant and continues to exist in our town and surrounding communities today. Additionally, the Sweetgrass Festival provides an opportunity for engagement, interaction and exposure to the Gullah Geechee people's culture. Informative and interesting educational sessions will enlighten and entertain participants of all ages. Offering free admission, entertainment and activities, the Sweetgrass Festival also provides an opportunity for local basket makers to showcase, promote and market their sweetgrass merchandise to locals as well as cultural tourists from around the country.

She rose to fame for her role as Maureen in the popular Broadway musical Rent, and her career took off when she won a Tony Award for her role as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the smash musical Wicked.

MOJA Arts Festival

The MOJA Arts Festival is a multi-disciplinary festival produced annually and directed by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the MOJA Planning Committee, an all-volunteer community arts and cultural group. Additional assistance and guidance are provided by the less formal networks of the MOJA Advisory Board, a group of civic leaders who assist with fundraising and advocacy, and the Friends of MOJA patron circle, representing individual and corporate donors. Moja, a Swahili word meaning “One,” is the appropriate name for this festival celebration of harmony among all people in our community. The Festival highlights the many African-American and Caribbean contributions to Western and world cultures. MOJA's wide range of events includes visual arts, classical music, dance, gospel, jazz, poetry, R&B music, storytelling, theatre, children's activities, traditional crafts, local foodways, and much, much more. In addition to its myriad arts presentations, MOJA also includes an active and busy educational outreach component of workshops in the public schools and senior outreach in community centers.

Old and new traditions delight at the 37th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Children's Day Festival! Families will enjoy carnival rides, inflatable slides, live entertainment, pony rides, games and many other activities! Admission and all activities are free. Free parking is available at Cario Middle School and Charles Pinckney/Laurel Hill as well as Kids Teeth – shuttles run all day or simply use the school's cut-through for a nice short walk!

Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch

Since 1997, the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch has grown to be one of the largest fall festivals in the state. 2024 will be the 28th year for this event which has become an autumn tradition that brings people of all ages together for a day of good old-fashioned fun on the farm.

25th Annual Holiday Market & Craft Show

Live entertainment with a holiday twist will kindle the holiday spirit throughout the market. Children's activities will include balloon art, caricature drawings and a visit with Santa Claus, who will listen to Christmas wishes and hand out surprises.
